I am a tech geek, as my wife describes me. If you let me walk around in Best-Buy or any other technology store, I can stay for hours and just browse everything I can! But primarily, I freak out about new phones.
That being said, I have been monitoring the news around the HTC HD2(aka LEO). In Europe the phone was first shipped to customers on October 19, 2009 , although the official news about the phone were released earlier. The phone was first available all over Europe and now, thankfully to T-Mobile and HTC, the phone will also be offered in the U.S. with or without a contract from T-Mobile. According to engadget.com, there is a high probability that the phone will be available on March 24th, with Price of $199 with a 2 year contract, and $449.99 without a contract. T-mobile has already added the HTC HD2 on their phone section but it is listed as coming soon.
In my opinion and according to tech news around the internet, the HD2 is one of the best phones every made. It has the newly developed Qualcomm 1GHZ Snapdragon processor, but the RAM and ROM varies by the different versions of the phone(Europe version has less ROM and RAM). The T-Mobile US version of the HTC HD2 will have:
- 4.3 inch HD touch-sensitive screen with 480 x 800 WVGA resolution
- Qualcomm 1GHZ Snapdragon processor
- 1 GB ROM Internal Memory + 576 RAM
- 16 GB Memory Card included in the package
Plus many more features that you can check on the HTC website, www.HTC.com/us

There was a lot of chatter whether the HD2 will be upgradeable to Windows 7 Mobile, which will be released later this year. Currently, the HTC HD2 is equipped with Windows 6.5 Mobile masked under the Sense UI provided by HTC, which makes the phone OS look much sleeker and more interesting. Even though people speculate that the phone might not receive a Windows 7 update, HD2 owners rest their hopes on xda-developers.com who have provided many software upgrades on almost all HTC phones. HTC HD2 users will have to wait and see whether a Windows 7 Mobile ROM will leak on XDA-Developers.com .
Many users have expressed their regrets that the HTC HD2 is equipped with Windows Mobile instead of the popular Android Open Source Operating System, that seems to grow more popular amongst Handset manufacturers. xda-developers are also working on a way to port the Android OS on the HD2, but their work is still in the beginning stage of the development.
